South African jazz musician, Ray Phiri, who founded the band Stimela together with became internationally known spell performing on Paul Simon's Graceland tour, died of cancer on Midweek at historic menstruum 70.
Phiri, a singer together with guitarist known for his versatility inward jazz fusion, indigenous South African rhythms together with other styles, received many music awards inward his dwelling solid country. His expiry was met amongst nationwide tributes.
