Angry residents inward Gambia’s Kanifing municipality turned their mayor’s purpose into a rubbish dump over the weekend inward protestation against miserable waste materials management inward the area.
According to local media, the residents of Bakoteh as well as Manjai blame the urban essence council of mismanaging the municipality’s brain Bakoteh dump site, exposing them to wellness risks.
They later blocked the Bakoteh dump site leaving rubbish trucks as well as other residents stranded.
Traders from the brain Serrekunda Market inward the municipality were reported to bring dumped the pile of rubbish inward front end of the Mayor’s purpose on Sat after they were blocked.
The constabulary brought the standoff nether command as well as 2 people were arrested on Sat equally they opened the dump site, Fatu Network reported.
